API Enhancements – Work in Progress
We’re continuing our work on enhancing our API capabilities to give you more flexibility and power when integrating with Bud.
To further extend the API capabilities, we are also providing the functionality to Archive an Employer. Only Employer Administrators will be able to do this, and it will mean that archived Employer will not show up when selecting an employer on an application or when changing the Employer of a Learner. Existing applicants and Learners with an archived employer will not be impacted.
This will be launched in one of our September releases.
As a reminder, here's what we hope to achieve with our API Enhancements:
👉 A much simpler and easier-to-use developer portal, complete with code snippets and integration helpers to get you up and running quicker.
👉 Improved error handling makes it easier to spot and resolve data issues at integration touchpoints.
👉 Expanded capabilities – we’re focusing first on application-related enhancements, giving you more integration and automation options in that area.
👉 Third-party identifiers added to key objects, so you can match data against your own systems without needing to search for UIDs in the Bud Data Warehouse.
We’ll be sharing more information soon, but in the meantime, you can get a preview of what’s coming in this article.
Turnitin integration
We’re excited to share that we are moving forward with an integration between Bud and Turnitin. Following a period of discovery to understand customer needs and technical requirements, we are now in the planning stage, with development scheduled to begin shortly.
This integration will enable trainers to seamlessly send learner submissions from Bud to Turnitin for analysis. Turnitin will assess the work for both plagiarism and AI-assisted writing, with the results returned directly into Bud. Trainers will then be able to use this feedback within Bud to inform and enhance the learner feedback process.
We will be sharing more information soon.

Attendance Tracking
Ahead of a bigger future roadmap item for session management, we are working on a simpler solution to help you track learner attendance for workshops in the meantime. This will include:
✅ A new activity type for programmes, called “Workshop”
✅ The ability for a trainer to record an attendance outcome for the “Workshop” activity in a learner’s learning plan
✅ The ability for a trainer to record an attendance outcome for multiple learners on the “Workshop” activity via Group Learning
✅ Additional reports for both individuals and groups to easily track attendance outcomes
This design shows how attendance tracking will be included in the new “Workshop” activity. 👉

Compliance Enhancements
We are still working on the plan for Q4 and the below is subject to change.
Based on customer feedback, the two priorities we have identified for compliance enhancements are Flexible Aim Management and OTJT improvements.
Flexible Aim Management – the problem we’d like to solve is the start & end dates of aims within a programme not being correct at enrolment and not having the ability to update aim dates during learning.
OTJT – one of the key problems we’d like to solve is the duplication of hours recorded in a learner’s learning plan. A few potential solutions are being considered for this, and we will provide more information soon.
Smaller compliance enhancements will also be included. For example, the addition of capturing a visa expiry date during the application and being able to report on it from the Data Warehouse will be released on 16th September. The release notes nearer the release date will provide further information.
Platform Optimisation
Site reliability
This work significantly reduces, and in most cases eliminates, the occurrence of failed snapshots and related issues such as statuses not updating. We believe we have addressed the root cause, and any issues currently being reported pre-date this fix.
We will continue to monitor closely, and if any new instances arise, we will investigate them as soon as they are reported. In addition, we will keep releasing small, incremental improvements as needed to ensure this area remains stable and fully resolved.
The primary site reliability focus continues to be overall site stability and speed for users, and we will continue working hard to ensure this is optimised as much as possible. Please keep an eye on our release notes for future updates:
Custom Data Exports - Work in Progress
We've made significant progress on our new Custom Data Exports feature, which will bring simplicity and speed to accessing your data directly from the Data Warehouse via the Bud platform — removing the need for complex tools like Power BI or specialist knowledge.
The current planned release date for this feature is 14 October and it will allow you to:
➡️ Select exactly what fields you want to export
➡️ Apply common filters to fine-tune your data
➡️ Export your data to CSV
➡️ Save and reuse custom report templates
➡️ Share templates with colleagues
We also held a webinar with a pre-release demo of this upcoming feature. If you didn't make it to the webinar, you can watch back the recording or check out the FAQs here: https://support.bud.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/30058263360669-Custom-Data-Exports-Webinar
