John_ingramQ&A with John

Why Bud?

When I first met Heather and David their genuine passion for adult learning shone through. Translating that passion into a training delivery platform is no mean feat. Bud, as a company, has already achieved so much in such a short space of time, it really is an extremely exciting place to be.

Why are you passionate about edtech?

Because to digitally deliver high quality training means better access to learning for everyone, and that is what drives social mobility.

I have a genuine passion for edtech and the huge and positive impacts it can bring to both businesses and learners.

John Ingram, CEO at Bud

Where do you see Bud in 5 years' time?

The Bud team is so strong, there are experts in training delivery through every department. In my view, talent attracts talent which can only mean the Bud team rapidly going from strength to strength. In the short term, we will be driving a better experience for all our customers and platform users and, by 5 years’ time, I’m confident that we will have expanded into more areas of EdTech than we are currently able.

What are your interests outside of edtech?

I have always been a football enthusiast. From chasing around a leather ball in the park in the pouring rain, to listening to matches on the radio and watching them on television, I’ve always been a fan of the beautiful game. Personally, I now see football as more of a spectator sport. I have supported Ipswich Town, who are in League One, all my life and continue to do so today.

When football isn’t in season, I love watching cricket. I’m hoping that England can manage to get enough of their players out to Australia to take part in the Ashes this year. There’s nothing better than coming home after a long day’s work and putting my feet up and watching some world class sport!

I also really enjoy cooking and at home, I consider myself to be the chef. I love experimenting with flavour and colour and my speciality is Indian food. I really enjoy curries with a bit of heat although my family suggest they verge on being radioactive!
