Calex switches to Bud, reducing reliance on multiple systems
Calex, the multi-sector learning and development company, has consolidated the many training delivery systems they were using into a single solution that integrates with their VLE—Bud.
Since their launch Calex had relied on multiple systems to deliver apprenticeship training, with one system for data management and ESFA submissions, another for learner progression, and another e-learning and revision. By switching all of these processes into Bud, Calex are now experiencing the benefits of a true end to end platform including: reducing multiple data entries, improving data accuracy and enhancing security.
Chris Newton, Head of Apprenticeships at Calex said:
“Our trainers and regional coaches are spread across the country, with each trainer and coach managing multiple learners within their region, they’ve described Bud as being really intuitive and easy to use, and they’re telling us they expect their learners to find the platform very easy to adopt too. Bud is a ‘forward-thinking’ platform that will allow our learners to take increased ownership for their progress. They will see the full programme and be able to complete tasks at their own pace, without relying on their trainer and coach to tell them what to do each month. Employers can also see the total programme, meaning they can participate in planning activities. Overall, we’re looking forward to greater fluidity between trainers, learners and employers.”
Owen Thomas, COO at Bud said “I’m thrilled that Calex has chosen Bud as they are known for harnessing the latest learning technologies. Bud is the perfect solution to support Calex in delivering truly blended learning, maximising the availability of training, measuring it’s effect and reporting on real-time data to give management a clear view of their business.”
By adopting Bud, Calex will benefit from:
- Remote enrolment including learners self-serving their details, digital signatures and proof of ID
- Single sign-on resulting in a reduction in trainer workload and administrative errors
- End to end digital delivery and paperless processes
- Integrations, including with bksb
- Bespoke reporting templates to share with employers
- ‘Mobile first’ interface, enabling improved engagement with learners
- Workforce and learner reporting so that managers have a clear view of their business
- Funding management and ongoing collation of evidence
- Reduction in face to face visits, reducing fuel consumption and associated costs
