Business Development Manager

Founded in 2017 to serve the apprenticeship training market, Bud manages over 80,000 users across an enviable portfolio of training providers and employers. We have recently invested further in our proposition, with venture capital support, to capitalise on the expansion of funded qualifications in the UK.

Play a key role...

As a Business Development Manager, you will own the sourcing and conversion of new business opportunities – engaging with prospects, uncovering their needs and positioning our solutions as the clear answer. While some self-sourcing is required, you’ll benefit from a steady flow of high-quality MQLs and SQLs, as well as support from an in-house SDR to help build and maintain a strong pipeline.

This is a pivotal role at the centre of our growth strategy and calls for a confident deal-maker – someone as comfortable crafting tailored proposals as they are picking up the phone and making things happen.

In this role you'll...

  • Identify and qualify leads through outbound, inbound, and SDR support. Build and manage a strong sales pipeline using MQLs and SQLs.
  • Engage prospects via calls, emails, and meetings. Understand their needs to tailor your approach.
  • Deliver tailored platform demos that address client challenges and highlight value.
  • Own the sales cycle from first contact to close, supporting strategic proposals and client meetings.
  • Keep all activity and interactions up to date in HubSpot to support a smooth sales process.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitors, and product updates to inform your approach.
  • Work with SDR and marketing teams to support lead gen. Adhere to all legal, regulatory, and company policies.

Do you have the Bud DNA, what we're looking for...

  • Proven experience in a sales role, such as Business Development Manager, Account Executive, or Sales Development Representative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Eagerness to grow within a sales-focused role, particularly within the SaaS industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • A proactive, optimistic mindset with a "there’s always a way" approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals, including working with MQLs and SQLs.

What's in it for you?

  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), rising to 29 days (FTE) with service.
  • Additional day’s holiday for your birthday.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Life Assurance.
  • Private healthcare.
  • Company Contributory pension scheme.
  • Free on-site gym.
  • Ongoing personal development opportunities.
