2026 Product Theme - Flexible Learning
Flexible Learning transforms Bud into a more adaptable LMS that reflects how learning actually happens. By blending learning and assessment, managing evolving aims, grouping content into bite-size chunks and providing learner-level configuration at ease, enabling more personalised delivery, automated workflows, and better learner outcomes at scale.

Introducing an Initial Assessments integration for our OST Programmes with Century that enables a seamless experience for trainers and learners to conduct and record results for Initial Assessments from Bud.
We're currently working on extending the integration to OST Programmes.
We have implemented the majority of the updates from the first two versions of the funding rules. We are now working on updating the employer co-investment process to reflect the latest rules in version 3 and updating the Training Plan document to align with the government's template.

We're currently working on a set of enhancements to our AI-powered chatbots, Bud Assist for Trainers and Bud Assist for Learners.
Further enhancements to Bud Assist for Learners will include trainer conversation history and AI-powered safeguarding.
As Ofsted places greater emphasis on inclusion, wellbeing, and learner support, we are enhancing Bud’s Inclusion and Support functionality to support a clear, evidence-based Assess, Plan, Do, Review approach. Through developments such as wellbeing reviews, wellbeing logs, inclusion notes, and strengthened Support Plans, providers will be better equipped to identify needs, coordinate support, evidence impact, and help learners receive more personalised support to succeed.
We are redesigning how user roles work in Bud, moving away from broad, fixed roles towards a new set of action-based roles, each with clear permission tiers. This gives training providers precise control over what every user can see and do in the platform.
We’re exploring the ideas in discovery to better understand users' needs and shape the most effective solutions.
We’re enabling providers to build structured, reusable modules that can be applied across programmes. This streamlines content creation and management and transforms the Learner and Employer experience by replacing overwhelming activity lists with clear, modular learning journeys.

Phase 2 of delivering several highly requested content configuration items, including activities set in the Programme in days, weeks and months, filtering in the Progress Record to see uncompleted criteria, alerts on activities with a higher volume of actual hours compared to planned, and more!

Providers can now add on-programme Assessments to their programme templates and learning plans, allowing them to track assessment outcomes in real time and creating stronger evidence for audit.

Our AI‑powered learner assistant is now live, providing on‑demand learner support by answering queries, offering personalised guidance, and enhancing engagement throughout the full duration of learners' programme of study. You can also control which programme you wish for the AI assistant to work on.
