“I joined the University of Liverpool in February 2022, I’d worked in the FE sector for many years, in ITPs and more recently in a college for 12 years, with a focus on apprenticeships, traineeships and government funded programmes. When I first started at the university, one of the first things I was keen to find out was which apprenticeship system the university was using”.
Jane discovered that many different spreadsheets and systems were being used to capture key information, with no centralised system in place. Jane quickly recommended that they needed to invest in an end-to-end apprenticeship management system, because she knew having multiple disparate systems would increase the opportunity for administrative error and, potentially, risk compliance.
“I had used many solutions on the market in previous roles, and at least had a demo from others. An old colleague mentioned that they’d heard that Bud was good but didn’t know much about it, so I Googled it, landed on bud.co.uk and submitted a book a demo form.”
During the buying process, Jane compared three platforms. Jane said “Our Bud representative was great from beginning to end, she had extensive knowledge of apprenticeship delivery having worked in operations at a training provider herself. We’re now in the implementation phase and our implementation manager is fantastic, it’s been a really positive experience. In fact, we’ve already put our first cohort of learners onto Bud, and we’ve still got an implementation training session to go!”
Jane has been so impressed by both the platform and the Bud team that she has already recommended Bud to other universities and spoken about her journey to procuring the right apprenticeship software to colleagues at a Northwest Universities Network that she chairs.
As pioneers of technology, Bud Systems can support with many aspects of training delivery.
